Meeting Minutes
___________________________________________________

1.  Meeting was opened at 7:30 P.M. in the Council conference room of Memorial City Hall
In attendance were members: Sam Swan, Betty Lewis, Mike Deming, Max Champion, staff members Michael Long and Alicia McKeen.

2. Approval of Minutes:  Motion to approve the minutes of May 14, 2002 made by Sam Swan, seconded by Betty Lewis.  All votes in favor.  Minutes accepted.  

3. Certificate of Appropriateness:      

A.      15 Elizabeth St. Chris and Sherie Kelly
B.      102 South St. Carl Townsend latitude, it should blend but not look old.  Owner wants to install vinyl siding that matches the house, dutch lap, easier to use and care for.  Mike L. suggests adding corner boards also to match house.  Mike D. adds to use standard doors and give recommendation to ZBA.  Also, vinyl siding will keep cost down.  States dormers over doors would look nice.  Owner states only planned on overhead doors, no other windows or doors.  Mike L. suggests installing 8 All members vote approval.

3. Other matters.  
 
        A.      Script for South St. video seems to skip around.  What will actually filming order be?  Question if to be divided by time periods, house styles, etc.  ID people, as not everyone knows who they might be.  Hamilton and Fitch need to be changed to Ave not St.  Hardenbergh did not settle immediately but after returning from war.  Seward was also senator for 12 years.  Other miss-spelled names and errors noted.  More famous homes need to be embellished  1st get video for locals for pride in area then see if it can be marketed.
        
        B.      Max recommends letter to Great Race to find alternative to spray painting street.

4. Adjournment: Next meeting September, 2002 at Memorial City Hall at 7:00 p.m.
